It all started one Saturday morning in 1990 when Joan was taking a few minutes to unwind from her full-time job in the aerospace industry, taking full-time college classes and having just moved into a new home. She turned on the television and while flipping through the channels came upon a nationally televised craft show - Aleene's Creative Living. She watched with great excitement and at the end noticed that it was taped only twenty minutes from where she lived. Little did she know that her life would be changed forever from that moment on.
Viewers were encouraged to submit their ideas for the Sharing segment on the show. Joan did just that and her project, Dress Up Dolly made from shrink plastic, was featured on the show. She was totally shocked when the producer asked her to demonstrate how to make the project on the show. From that happenstance beginning, almost twenty-five years ago, Joan's creative journey that includes working for the largest manufacturer's in the industry, brings us to today where she continues her passion of making people feel special through creativity.
